Well known brand Clearblue has launched a new breakthrough Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test with an indicator which estimates the date of conception.
This revelation is the first home pregnancy test that can detect if a woman is pregnant and when the baby was conceived. The new advanced pregnancy test was launched by the UK's leading brand and holds all the original benefits, precise accuracy and reliability but now has the added 'Conception Indicator', allowing the parents to see approximately when the conception took place. The test works by detecting the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin), present during the early stages of pregnancy, passed in the woman's urine.
The new ground-breaking test uses added 'Smart Dual Sensor technology. If hCG is present the test indicates this and a second sensor measures the concentration of the hormone and estimates when conception occurred. The test works by applying urine to the absorbent sampler then a digital screen indicates to wait three minutes before displaying the result.
A positive test reads 'pregnant' on the display along with the conception indicator result. The result is a prediction of how many weeks have occurred since conception: 1-2 weeks, 2-3 or 3+. The Smart Dual Sensor technology is exclusive to Clearblue - it is the only pregnancy test capable of delivering two results.
Clinical studies have measured the levels of HCG needed to predict when conception occurred. Director of new product development, Dr Jayne Ellis, said: "The Conception Indicator is something we have been researching for a number of years, and the final product is unique. We are excited to be able to offer women more valuable information about their pregnancy as soon as the 'Pregnant' result is confirmed."
Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test proves 99 per cent accurate in laboratory testing when used on the day the period is due. The Conception Indicator is proven 92 per cent accurate when using the first urine of the day.
