Craggy is out and smooth is in. It is as simple as that. Back in the day, a man with rugged good looks could attract women like no one else. Unpolished was the rule of the day for men. Makeup, cosmetic surgery, and rigid diets were for women alone. Nowadays, however, is much different. That ideals of beauty for men and women have never been closer. For both sexes, the goal is to be thin, sleek, and polished looking.
It is no wonder, then, that cosmetic surgery for men has become increasingly popular of late. Male cosmetic surgery caters to needs that men, until recently, didn't have. Few men felt the need to straighten crooked nose, liposuction off a few pounds, or do something more drastic like reduce wrinkles with botox. Nowadays – with only a few obvious exceptions – Every cosmetic surgical procedure that women have, men have on occasion as well.

One of the most interesting procedures in cosmetic surgery for men is the insertion of artificial muscles. A lot of men want to look like they have bulging biceps, six pack stomachs, and powerful pectorals, yet these same men often don't have the time to work out to get those results. Nowadays, some of them will actually have artificial muscles implanted. These muscles can look fairly convincing, even on closer inspection, and they satisfy many men's need for positive attention and admiration.

Still, many experts say that Cosmetic surgery for men should not be the first step. A lot of males see no other solution so they jump right in to cosmetic surgery without exploring if another possibility would be right for them. Some of them end up unhappy with the surgery they have, resulting in the need for costly reversals or further decreases in self-esteem. Men should take a cue from women – or so the experts say – and use more cosmetic products. Make up for men is no joke. Wrinkle cream, foundation, and all the other sorts of beauty supplies women have are making big inroads in the male market. They are by no means universally used accepted, but you'd be surprised how many men do use them. Men also need to learn how to dress in clothes that flatter them. This is another technique that can borrow from women. Sometimes, just covering up unattractive features or awkward angles can be enough. When it isn't, however, cosmetic surgery for men is definitely something you might consider.
